does anyone have any experience with those vans that weigh <500kg. I have a 07 2dr wrangler and for any extended trips need to tow as the hard top doesnt have rails for a tent etc and set up as a 2 seater is still a bit limited. Any other sugestions greatly appreciated...... (I dont use spell ck as I sometimes lose the text)

Hi David,

I owned a Viscount Nipper, weighing in at a mamoth 590kg and 10ft long. This was an awesome van that served us very well. If you wanted to set up an extreme offroader, I reckon this would be just about the ideal base for a real weapon. Was made out of "esky type" coolite material, was freeeeeeeeeezing cold in winter and freeeeeeeeeeeeekin hot in summer as the bed was an east west double setup across the front of the van, whoever drew short straw had to sleep against the window to suffer the wrath of the elements. Other than this minor inconveience, it held up very well to some real punishment from me. Sold it for my steel floor Supreme Getaway whch also takes a hiding but it weighs another 2tonne on the lNipper.

Happy van hunting.
Trevor.

David,

An alternative to a Caravan is a quick set up camper. We do one with full length drawers in the trailer for $4250.

Ours is up in 5 minutes and everything you need is in the slide out drawers.

Give me a call on 9706 6527 if you're interested.

Very light and easy to tow.

Jim

I'm with Jim - A light weight camper trailer would be ideal for what you need.

Yep...They had the same special at the Brisbane Expo. Might pay to wait until an expo in your area :-)

David,

I just purchased a second hand hard top camper. See my Rig.
Tare 500kg and towed nicely back from Qld including some dirt roads. Tried it out on the 4WD training tracks at Awaba and it did the job but it needs a treg coupling.
