Just got as above for a problem with the EGR tube. What does an exhaust gas recirculation tube do and how critical is it?
Thanks, Geoff

Geoff
Did they write to you? No mention on the Nissan site of a problem with the 4.2.

Just got the letter today, its "vehicle service campaign P7235" It states that if the tube fails "the vehicle will exhibit an exhaust gas leak, noise and/or poor acceleration."

Geoff,
I thought all Nissan's were like that.
So what they are saying is that they will have even less acceleration, more of a gas leak and noisier if the tube fails.

It recirculates exhaust gas into the engine on light throttle to reduce output of Nitrous oxide (Nox), by cooling the combustion process.
