Does anyone know of a reputable place in the Northern/North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne that will do a full gearbox & transfer reco or alternatively supply & fit a change-over for a 1986 FJ73 Tojo, and what sort of money I'm looking at? Any help appreciated.

Should be able to locate something in the tradingpost down there, exchange would be good, but look also at a parts kit for yours. At least you know whats going in and what the box has been through.

Just had my 1989 landcruiser transfer 7 gear box reco'd and of course a new clutch fitted at end of April 2003. After rig had done 266,000kms it had a bit of hardware damage on top of normal replacement parts. Whole lot cost me $3,100 from Victorian Differentials & Transmissions in Mitcham. Ph 9874 5268.
Not particularly cheap and NO PAYMENT PLANS EITHER. Strictly Cash/cheque or credit on delivery NO EXCEPTION. But very happy with the job. They rebuilt my front diff 2 years ago and it has never run better. Contact Lou and he will give you all the info.

All the Best
Andy
