I received a letter from Nissan Australia about a problem with the EGR tube on my 2005 mod 4.2l turbo diesel Trayback. I rang the Springwood branch but they don't have the part in stock and asked me to call back next week. The problem is we are going on a trip to Tassie and won't be here. I asked the mechanic about doing this after my trip and he said yes no problem.
Not trusting mechanics to much I wonder if anybody here knows more.
Thanks
Reiner

The problem is the pipe comes apart from where it is welded onto the flange fitting that screws onto the exhaust manifold,at worst it creates a bad exhaust leak and a small drop in boost.

Hope this helps.

it pushes exhaust gases through the intercooler making black smoke come out the bonnet scoop, and makes the engine bay black, as well as being very noisy with an open exhaust leak under the bonnet.

Mine broke while in Tassie, went to dealer, they couldnt get a pipe so I said fold it over, and I will fix it at home.

The new pipe they replace it with is different in design to the one on there.
