This bleedin' huge camo green thing turned up at the workshop.
It is a Tatra 8x8. It's on trials currently over at Moorebank with the Army. I had to make up some instruction labels, as all the stuff at the moment is in Russian or Czech. The 'boys' had been out playing in the mud on Monday & yesterday. They couldn't find a situation where it became bogged- and they claim they tried..
Air cooled diesel V8. Fully/fully independent (air bag) suspension. Lockers on all diffs.
Looks roughly like an OKA on steroids !!!
I took some pics with the phone camera, so when I work out how to download them I'll show them here.
With a bit of imagination, it'd make an ideal touring truck !!
Gotta have one- (wonder if it comes in powder blue??)

Great video link BUSHFIX. The tanker in the river with water up to the windsceen is very impressive. There are also 6x6 and something with 5 sets of wheels or rather 5 axles.

I just checked out some video of the range on YouTube:

Warning! these might upset the live axle purists.... ;-)

BTW the company OffRoad Trucks Australia customise these types of vehicles for civilian/commercial/government use.
