Hi Any one recently bought or tested the bush winch
They seem to have a couple of new additions
1. Anchor points
2. guides which attach to the wheels to help spooling when ropes not straight. This was to address one of the obvious problems with this tool.
The good thing about them they are light.
One bad thing about them is they are VERY expensive
The kits costs around $880
The guide costs over $400 (a lot to pay for a deficiency in the original product)
The anchor points are also over $400.
A hand winch may be a better alternative but (I have not used one) from comments in this
forum are hard bloody work.
If the price was a lot less I reckon they may get more interest. Not sure what do people think.

For the very occasional recover yourself use, tirfor or similar is the go.
If you intend to winch more often then an electric is better, still only for self recovery though.
For the amount they want for a bush winch you could get an electric winch, plus you don't have to carry it in the vehicle.
With wheel studs seeming to become weaker why would you want to load them up?

If you're going to spend that much, get an electric winch. If you don't want to spend that much get a set of MaxTrax.

HI Mate, Here's a site with a pretty good review/test of the Bushwinch
If you look on the right hand side of the
home page you'll see the review.

$1600 will get you a good xd9000 electric winch fitted, with all the protectors, shackles, extension straps, etc that you could need.

I wouldn't mind having a set but reckon they are
WELL over priced.
A hand winch may be my best option as reckon the electric ones are expensive as
well but what isn't with 4wd.

They look like they do a good job of getting you unstuck forwards or reverse, however that is about it, you can't winch a fallen tree out of the way with them as far as I can work out & look a little suseptible to damage in the chunky stuff. I think I will stick with my Warn & 3ton come along.
