QUEANBEYAN SES EQUIPMENT STOLEN
The Queanbeyan SES have suffered at the hands of callous thieves who have stolen rescue equipment including a chainsaw, generator, radios, tools and a
first aid kit from a locked storage shed. Controller Brett Byron said that such an act against a volunteer emergency organisation was 'low' and committed by people with very little understanding of the what the SES does for the community. "Don't these people realise that one day they may call upon us to assist them, their family or friends in an emergency."
The theft took place sometime on Friday night.
While the unit remains fully operational every piece of equipment is vital to a volunteer organisation. The Queanbeyan unit prides itself on maintaining its equipment for its vital rescue role. Mr Byron said ,"We take great pains to procure and maintain our equipment to ensure that the unit is ready to assist the community in times of emergency."
The equipment is clearly marked with "Queanbeyan SES".
Police investigations are continuing into the matter.

My old RFS station had a portable pump, a 2 week old genny, beer fridge stolen once... fairly low act too as we had saved for 12mths to get the bux for the genny...
after all it was to be used to help locals in regular floods and car accidents with flood lights.
