A question for all the patrol gurus out there. I've recently bought a June 2004 GUIII 4.2TD Patrol and as i'm not certain of the service history have decided to change all the lubricants. When i checked the Ryco catalogue for oil filters it recommends a Z503 and a Z416. The previous owner has fitted 2 x Z503's. As the Z503 has a 3/4'' fitting and the Z416 has a 1'' fitting i don't see how the recommended combination could be installed.
Could anyone tell me if 2 x Z503's is the correct arrangement.

The first 4.2's had 2 different filter but they changed back to 2 the same. Mine is an 10/03 4.2tdi and i use 2 Z503's. I would be 100% sure yours will be the same. i believe the change back occurred when they added the intercooler. Can you see the part numbers on the filters that are installed? If they are the same you'll be right. i move the fuel filter out of the way when changing them and remove the dipstick.

correct, Mine is TD6, and has 2 of the same... Mate has 2001 mod with 2x different. Good for me, we went 1/2s in a dozen filters!

Just removing the filters so you dont coat everything in old oil is the hard part... :( Worst design ever.
