Hi all
I have a 2005 Hilux 4x4 Diesel, my problem is I have to use low range to reverse my boat up the drive way. Does anybody know of an easy way to fit a manual switch into the wiring to disengage the front hubs ? Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

I think they would be a mechanical cam system rather than electrically activated.
I have heard of people changing them back to manual, but wouldn't have clue how it's done.

Sparky,
Mine hates towing. Any take off on a
hill is hard work and I only tow camper trailers about 500kg. I have a manual, is yours an auto?

The current Hilux's have a electronic solenoid that controls the front diff activation.
Haven't looked into it much as it is something I don't need but I can see why it would be good in some aplications.
I might have a look at the wiring diagram tonight.

Sparky, I drop
mine into low range at times when reversing up a steep driveway while towing. Providing you get the wheels pretty straight so you are not steering too much, I've found it OK over the short distances involved.

I drove twenty kilometers in 4wd once on the bitumen nd lived to tell the tale. I dont think your driveway is a challenge.
