Hope some one can assist. We are heading to the Whitsundays (or should that be Wetsundays) mid week and as we are taking our sedan we wanted to travel only on black top. I put in to my destination to Garmins Navigator software with unsealed roads avoided. It has come up with part of the trip taking me from Tambo to Mackay through Alpha and Clermont.

I have looked on hard copy maps I have and this is shown unsealed. Can anyone let me know if its sealed or not?

The road you are talking about from Tambo to Mackay is unsealed from Tambo to Clermont, but sealed from Clermont to Mackay. We have travelled that road many times and the road is usually okay, but we have a Landcruiser. I'd be inclined to stay with sealed roads, especially considering the recent floods up this way.

Thanks Jimbo for the heads up.. I have travelled it years ago and as I said all my maps say its still dirt, just Garmin didn't avoid it... Seems to lmake you loose a bit of faith in their software LOL.
