I had a phone call last night from a familiar voice, it was Robyn, AKA Navagator 1.
Both Charlie and Robyn are heading to Rockhampton and dropped in this afternoon for a chat and coffee. They left full of cake and cuppa and info on a new rig, it should be good when they get it :)
They are camping tonight near the Calliope historical village on the Calliope River. I did a quick recce this morning for them as this area was under 4 feet of water 10 days ago due to localised flooding. It has dried out pretty well but I think the sandflies will be creating havoc.

As an added bonus I may finally meet the King Cane Toad tomorrow as well Trevor is heading south for home tomorrow and is also goning to call in for a chat and strong coffee (read beer). He said that he was going to camp at the river as well but he may ended up camping here LOL (I had better tell Sam)

Cheers Kev

I'm glad you're not finding it too lonely out there. Sounds like your place could become the "Peterborough" of the north LOL

I just called Robyn to see if they were still at the river and found out that they continued on to Rockhampton, and also had another call from Trevor. He could be here tonight if Robyn and Charlie don't catch up with him in Rockhampton first :)

It will take a mammoth effort to out do Peterborough LOL

Cheers Kev

PS How did Willem get on??

Kev I hope that they are in a motel as Rocky had 8 inches of rain last night, coupled with the flood peak yesterday means flooding everywhere.

From what Trevor just told me they stayed at the caravan park in a cabin that was very close to the water. They may have wet feet this morning LOL

Talked to both of em, they have had wet tyres this morning so needed to reverse rather than do the river crossing. They were going to be orthodox after that and use the bridge ;-))))

Something to pull the trailer for an excavator with, eh? Once a trucky, always a trucky. Robyn would be mean riding shotgun.

We are leaving on the Monday morning and hope to get to St George or further. Then roll into Innaminka on Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning. We need to be back in Calliope by the following Wednesday evening as the Outlaw leaves on the Thursday.

I have available a 5 acre level block that we can camp on in St George if there is enough that want to meet up there. It is about 800kms thereabouts to Innaminka.
I might even stock up on fire wood in St George to take with us :)

Cheers

Hi Kev.
I see that next sundays "The Sunday Mail" has a 16 page camping guide which reveals Queensland's top 100 camping destinations.

I hope your backyard is mentioned LOL.

Hi Kevin and Sam, we managed to internet connection in our cabin in Rockhampton. This camping isn't so bad!!!!!
Thanks for the afternoon tea on Sunday.
It was great to catch up with Trevor in the cabin before he headed off to Caliope.
By the way, it is only the very low lying areas in Rockhampton that are flooded. 95% of the town is fine.
