Just wondering if anyone has used Series 2000 suspension and can compare with Old Man Emu? If so was it Heavy Duty or Standard? I've got the S' 2000 Hd Torsion Bars on Hilux 99 Extra Cab and have found them pretty good still get good travel and hold the nose up with winch, steel bar HD battery etc. without being harsh.
Time to replace the OEM rear leaf so wondering wether to go the S' 2000 and finsh the set off.
Like most I am usually only half loaded and then for @12 weeks fully, fully loaded!
Thanx in advance.

I've got s2000 all round on my troopy, I initially recieved 3/4 bad shockies, these were replaced at no cost and upgraded to XGS units, so i'm not complaining.

My only concern with the spring packs is that they are just too good, I'm set up for heavy loads and towing but would dearly love more travel. I've done over 100 000kms on the setup and it's all (including the shocks and shackles) still going strong.

I've had misgivings about S2000 coil springs being too firm on the front, despite winch and bar. Have since changed them over, much better now. Never had a good run with OME shockers, regardless of vehicle type, they have all leaked oil on me. Built to a price, but gas-pressure shocks are prone to seal failure. Wont buy them again. No troubles (so far) with Rancho which use a captive gas-pressure bag that does not exert pressure directly on the top seal.

Hi Slammin,
If you can afford it, go the OME. I got Series 2000 leaf springs on my 95 Hilux, previously the same springs were on my old 85 'lux and have given good service. However, the leaf tips on the S2000's are starting to rub into each other, as dust and mud etc get in between the leaves it acts as grinding paste over a period of time. The OME springs have regreasable anti friction pads between the leaf tips to stop this problem. I reckon a set of OME will outlast the S2000's no worries. If I could have afforded it at the time, I would have gone with OME.
Cheers

Had Series 2000 and XGS on the GQ, never had a problem with them, infact when I went the 6inch lift, I sold them, and they are still running on another GQ.. They have been Simpson, and Cape and are still going...

You can have a good run in anything mass produced, simple as that, they make 1000 a day, bound to be 2-5 duds in there isnt there?

But as someone else said, personal preference for top dog is Koni. Lots more $ but rebuildable as well as adjustable.
