I can't help with the answer. But, I would suggest you ring the cop at
Wanaaring.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think there is a Copper at
Wanaaring. The closest would be either
Bourke, Tib or
Wilcannia

I'll certainly bow to more superior knowledge in these days of "Rationalisation of Resources". But There was certainly a cop there up till 2002 and the phone number is still listed in the phone

Hi snailbait
I get the Road Conditions report almost daily from the RTA in
Broken Hill and update usually as soon as I get them.
This mornings update informed me that White Clffs to
Wanaaring is open however I see that on the map the road is red indicating closed.
This is a remnant from our latest rebuild of the code for this area, I will get Dave to fix this ASAP.Please trust the text and dates on this particular region as it is correct and I have just rechecked it. Hope this helps and thanks for letting us know.
(Though we prefer you ask us directly as we are probably the best ones to answer for you).
thanks
Kerry W .

Snailbait,
The road is a good sandy/clay road it sometimes gets a bit corrigated.
If it has been wet and it has, the puddles can be deeper than they look. That red mud really sticks too. If you have an alloy bull bar you want to get it off ASAP or it will stain.
You should be able to travel at the speed you want,
White Cliffs to
Wanaaring should be a nice mornings drive.
