diesel pump pressure

hi all, does anybody know about fuel pressure on a diesel pump its
a 1HZ motor 4.2 is it easy to fix or cost much to get done the
car when travelling at about 50 or 60kmh when the auto changes into top gear with light throttle it seems to get this surging feeling
a couple of people think that it is the fuel pressure in the diesel pump is to low

has anybody come across this problem

I had mine overhauled at about 300k and they replaced parts etc but it cost about $600 from memory. It only takes a small amount of wear to cause decreased efficiency.

I saw it as long term maintenance and is now right for another 200k+

Yeah Brentos take it to a Diesel Fuel Injection Specialist.

If you let us know where you are I am sure someone here will be able to recommend a good one in your area.


About $600 to $800 seems to be the go for a fuel pump but it is probably worth getting the injectors done at the same time unless you know they have been done recently.

Does it run ok at full throttle ?

And at a constant 100 Klm or there abouts in one gear UNDER top ??

yeah it runs good at full throttle and cruises perfect at 100kmh
not sure about 1 gear under though i assume it wolud be ok
what is your opinion on what it could be
