Currently staying in
merimbula and aiming to get to
jindabyne.Wondering if i should go down to cann river then back up that rd,or grit my teeth and go over brown mtn to
bombala. Our van is long and quite heavy and even though the cruiser does it easy, some of the hairpin turns can be a challenge.I've got a carload of kids and i'm tempted to take the shorter high rd...unless someone can talk me out of it....

I remember going up Brown Mt years ago. Worst fuel figures I ever got out of that car. 2nd and 3rd gear all the way up the
hill and there were some pretty hairy moments too.
I was in a 4speed V8 Torana and going waaaayyyyyyy too fast. But gee it was fun.
Haven't been on that road since, it's probably changed in the last 27years.

If you want to go to
Bombala you will find it on the Cann River Road not on Brown Mt Rd. Mountain is easy these days but may be slow ....oldbaz.

If you are going to
Jindabyne from
Merimbula, you wouldn'd normally go near
Bombala, unless there is something specific.
Normally go straight up the Brown Mountain to
Cooma, left at the roundabout Staright to
Jindabyne.
The Brown mountain is not a problem for caravans, steep in
places, but no corner should worry you.

From
Merimbula head south about 8Km to Pambula, stay on Hwy untill you X the
bridge then turn right to
Bombala. A great road, not at all steep no hairpins and you can cut across through to Jindy via
Delegate... Nice run.
