Want to make a statement?

This crowd will have their vehicles on display at the Perth Caravan Show next month:

Silverado

6.6 litre V8 diesel. 272 kW, 895 Nm. That ought to drag the Trakmaster all over Oz without a problem.

Drooling approved. Now what's the current Lotto jackpot situation?

The 2008 F350 is hard to beat for driving, it is awesome, but the International Powerstroke engine has some reliability issues, which I am sure Ford will address when they have their own Scorpion diesel soon. (see my post below)

The Ford Powerstroke 6.4L TT V8 diesel, Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins inline 6 diesel, and the Chevy Duramax 6.6L V8 all put out the same power and torque 350-360HP/650-660lb-ft. Ford are currently working on their own inhouse 6.7L V8 "Scorpion" diesel to replace the Powerstroke, and it is said to have 400 Horse and 700 Pound-Feet of torque at 1600rpm. That's 300kw @3,500rpm and 950Nm @ 1,600rpm. But that's what it's testing at right now (pre-production), I would expect it to be even higher when it's ready (when Ford and International stop suing each other over it).

That sounds like a "mine will be bigger than yours, when/if I ever get it" story.

Interesting you say that Gerhard. You could have gotten away with that line too...if only you owned anything remotely like it right now. I am just stating the facts about what's happening in the pickup truck market. I didn't say I am getting a Ford F350, but nodoubt I will get to drive them. I am buying a Ford Expedition (which is like an 8 seater F150) :-)

If Toyota ever release Tundra here I will be waiting at the dealers for a test drive as soon as it comes off the boat.

Only problem is that a vehicle that sells for less than $US50k would likely be WELL over the $A100k mark by them time Toyota Australia puts a sticker on the windscreen!

Drool Drool...........

Yep, the pricing difference between the US and here is a mystery sometimes.

A Ford F250 in US costs 29000 Aussie dollars.

Brand new.
