Hi All, what a great site this is...my hubby and I (in our 40's and made redundant) are looking to purchase a fifth wheeler and F250-then want to travel to SA and WA and hope to work along the way..possibly in the mines at some stage. Any strong suggestions as to where to start?? Need to purchase the vehicle first.

Have a look at second hand setups, you'll find quite a few packages that may fit your needs and you'll save a heap.

There is work everywhere around Aus. The mines are always looking for tradesmen. general work on Stations, work in towns,

http://www.stationhand.com.au/

There are other sites as well.

You can also follow the seasonal work routes around Aus.

Thanks for the feedback...will be searching for sites this evening. We've seen a few second hand packages (truck and RV)-sounds like the way to go, especially when you price the brand new ones.

Hi
in regards to looking for work on the mines, try some of the recruitment agencies: Drake International, Skilled, Seek.com.au. My hubby & I spent 2 years in Karratha WA, and we used Drake, but there are others around. There is sooo much work in towns and mining in WA it's not funny. If you have the skills, you'll find work.
You might like to enquire at some of the caravan places around WA to see if they cater for fifth wheelers. Some friends ran a caravan park in Port Hedland that couldn't take anything over 18ft.
Hope this helps
