I think I would pay the extra and buy Lightfource...Austrlian made not Chinesse CR&P.

The Lightforce are only $55.00 each more and if you look at it over 5 years thats only $22.00 per pair per year extra.

But it's your choice.

Not sure where you are getting your prices from but the Roo Lite is almost half the price of Light Force and comes complete with loom, switches and very clear instructions.
I have both and without a magnifying glass it is a bit hard to tell the difference just looking at them.
Performance wise, no difference.
Much as I would love to buy Australian made only, my wallet tells me differently.

Dennis have a look at the link JAS095 had in his post.

Roo Lite $228.95 and Lightforce 170's $339.98.

Where can you get Roo Lites for around $120.00 a pair.

On Ebay the going price is around the $300.00 mark for lightforce.

I would sooner pay $110.00 more and buy a brand name product that is known for being good quality and you know in years to come they will still work.

Yes, I have a set. They appear to be a copy of the Lightforce ones. Probably not as good, but they are a serious light that I'm happy with.

I have a set of Roo Lite 180s. So far no problems and these work well enough for me. Others I know who have Roo Lites are happy with them too. The price difference is significantly more than $55 if you shop around...

Hi,
I have a set of Roo Lights too. They are a Lightforce copy.

For the price, you get the lights, but the wiring harness, relay, switch, fuse and all connectors.

I paid $220 for them 18 months ago.

For the occasional use I give them, I think they are fine.

While I like to buy Australian, I could not justify the price of the Lightforce 170's and the associated wiring loom that you are supposed to buy.

When I looked 18 months ago, the equivalent Lightforce 170's were $359 plus the wiring harness was $60. This was close to $200 more (almost double).

Prices may have changed since then due to competition, but I would tend to say the Roo Light is good value for money.

Cheers,
Mal

Typo,

It should read,

It was my understanding that the person who designed the Roo lites for Night Stalker used to be the designer at Lightforce but there was a parting of the ways but this is heresay so it could be wrong.

I have just installed a set of roo lights 220's on my truck. I am more then happy with the light output they produce, and for the limited night driving that i do, i am more then satisfied. I only paid $200 for the lot and that's great. What really bugs me is the quality of their mounting fixtures. No matter how much you tighten them, they are still moving around, and if you go over the limit you will snap the bolts of course. Has anyone had similar problems and if so how did you overcome them with your roo lites?
