hey guys, was just wondering, is $720 + GST a good price for an 80w solar panel? it is just the panel, would have to get the regulator.

what do you think? also was quoted $1150 for a 120w panel

Shannon,

That is not too bad, but you can do better. Call me tomorrow on 9706 6527 and I'll give you a few contacts, I don't sell them myself.

Jim.

Yes that is normal retail.

Shop around a bit and also find out if they have stock and what the delivery cost is.

Regards

Derek.

price aside, you have to know what it is you are getting !!

For instance if you were offered 100 Litres of PURE water for $100 it would be reasonable, however if that pure water was pure WHISKY, which looks similar, it would be a real bargain.

Same with Solar panels, some perform far better than others.

The 'size' terminology used is Watts, it's only the MAXIUM available in perfect conditions.

What your NOT told is the minimum conditions required for the Solar panel to work effectively, they are more often closer to the 'normal' conditions than the 'perfect' conditions.

Just as 'oils ain't oils' Solar panels vary also.

What I'm saying is the MAXIUM Wattage is only that, the maximum wattage the panel can produce in perfect conditions, what you need to know the average wattage the panel WILL produce in low light conditions.

Cheap panels are only cheap panels !!
