Hi Guys,

Was in Anaconda over the weekend and noticed they have Kipor generators on sale now. These were blue in colour (not yellow or red)
No one in there could give me much information about them, so i googled them when i got home but could not find any information on them. The 2kva retailed for $1500.
Does anyone know if these are any good or have any information on them?

Regards
Brett

Brett, iin a reply to thread 55085, I gave my experience with a Kipor generator. Suffice to say I now have a Honda. Standard Honda warranty is 4 years. Kipor 1 year.
You quote $1,500 as the price for a Kipor 2KVA. If you shop around, you will get a Honda 2KVA under $2,000 and Honda regularly has a $200 cash back deal. A poster on the other thread says his local Honda agent commented that a cash back offer will commence soon.
Worth considering at least.

The new models are now blue in colour.

Primus Australia is now the distributor for Australia.

Brett,

I have a Kipor 2 KVA which I bought for use on our trip round Australia 18 months ago. Used it twice and now gone to solar as I have sold the camper trailer. It's as new, still in original packaging and going for a lot less than $1500. If you're in Melbourne and interested, post an email address or mobile and I'll contact you.

Cheers

Mick

Mick,

I am looking at solar system at present for vehicle for similar reasons. What system, size brand etc are you using? The more I research the more unsure I have become as to brand size and storage of unit in vehicle.

Thanks

I bought a bifold 100 unit from ABR. Whilst a great unit, I found that by the time you've packed everything in the, it was difficult to get at and therefore I didn't use it as much as I could have. In hindsight, I would have been better with a 100 watt panel or greater mounted on the roofrack of the vehicle. Would have served my purposes better and also been somewhat cheaper (single panel as opposed to a bifold)

120W Sharp is hard to beat at $949.
Good solid frame and performance.
