i have a Toyota Toyoace motorhome without air conditioning is there a product on the market to keep keep the cabin cool, its too dear to put a car unit in, $ 600 just for a bracket to be made.
Am having windows tinted this will help a bit i hope---finished restoration --so took it for a run, happy with diesel fuel consumption, gave just better than 10 ltres per 100, much better than my old coaster 25 litres per 100 even on lpg.
fuel costs in country town moonta lpg 80 cents litre 9 cents dearer than adelaide and diesel 1.47litre 1 cent cheaper.

Kevin,
A couple of strategically placed 12V fans may help.

You may also be able to find an aftermarket bolt-in unit that would fit.
There were a couple of aftermarket manufacturers around a while back.
From memory, and that's not the best these days, one was Autocool or Auto-Air and the unit was called a "Mark 4". The in car bit was fitted under the dash and intruded into the centre and passenger knee space a bit, but they were reasonably effective in their day.

Hope this gives you something to start with.

Disco.

Truckies use an evaporative cooler system to keep their cabs cool so they can sleep during the day. Not sure what they're worth though.

You could try one of these Waeco seat coolers. Only $90 each so you could probably also afford one for the navigator.

Waeco also have a Roof Air Conditioner for around $2K and a 12V adaptor for $700 but you could provide your own inverter for less. This would be useful for extra hot days when you can head for a caravan park and plug into the mains.

Try a spray bottle with your window down!

There is no cheap way out of it.

You phoned some companys in Adelaide about 2 months ago who do this type of work and got given a prices.

I think you spent over 20 minutes on the phone talking to our company about it and got given a price of between $2000 to $3500.

How much do you want to spend.

yes i remember talking to you on the phone and i did go around the wreckers looking ---as soon as i said toyoace they all said that they haven't wecked one in years.
there is a cabin cooler called -- kooleraire in the usa sells for$29 it consists of foam plate with a fan and vent ---it fits into an esky full of ice--- the fan blows over the ice and comes out cool through the vent-----very thought provoking ------the measurements of it are 16.25 x 9 inches the plate is 1.25 inches thick
First up how long would the ice last --hours they say--- the esky is a 25 quart one . so if one got a battery operated fridge cooler would the ice last longer?
gonna give it a try with an esky first ---looking at the photo of it cant see why i cant make one to suit

If something for $29.00 could cool a vehicle why would people spend $1000's on getting an air con fitted.

For the amount of heat you are trying to transfer I don't think you will have much luck for the price you want to pay.

There is no you bute thing on the market that will do what you want to do.

The Toyoace are the same as the Dyna.

Don't waste your money on something that will not work.

Regards Richard
