Hi all
Was wondering if anyone can provide some advice on this.
The fridge/freezer was advertised in the Repco pamphlet this weekend for $649. It states "Digital control panel, travel bag included, shut off when voltage is low. Up to 50d c below ambient temperature"
I was wondering how good it would be compared to other models like Engel, Waceo etc.
On the second page of the pamphlet it has a 40l compressor fridge/freezer for $1199??? So am a little sceptial
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers
Dax

I guess it comes down to the brand of compressor, and quality of the insulation. How will it hold together after 000's of kms of rough roads? How long is the warranty? Is it a replace warranty or repair?
Who makes it?
Its a gamble that could end in disaster, or it could be a bargain
Cheers Stefan

Howdy Dax,
i bought one last year, looks exactly like this one. Called Chillbox. Had it for 2 weeks and returned it. After 2 days in the back of the cruiser the compressor started banging and clanging. The demand on your battery is HUGE!!!! Drained my 100Ah deep cycle over night. The cover is crap, about the thickness of a lolli wrapper. It works fine on the included power supply. But then you wouldn't want to buy one if it only runs ok on mains power? Mine was a typical pice of chinese el cheapo. The
shop took it back without any complaints to their credit, though. I now own a 40 ltr Engel and couldn't be happier. If you can afford it go for a decent brand. It will be cheaper in the long run, hey....
Cheers, Udo
