I have an Adventra for towing my 22 foot boat (also have a 4 runner). Great car, loads of power, comfy leather interior, etc. etc. Oh, did you want good economy? 16L/100km when towing, 14 when not.

The Volvo XC70 (I think) was the best of what we test drove when we were buying but $$$ prevented us buying it. I heard on here the other day, and have also heard from a guy that owns one, Xtrail is a good car but heavy on juice when towing.

He was towing the equivalent of a 15' van as well LOL
The new model X Trail may be a bit better though

Look at the towing capacities, and you'll probably end up with an Xtrail (2000kgs).

We have 2 in the family, and they get 8.2 to 8.6 l/100k on the highway running Premium. I haven't towed with ours.

Try 16/100 when towing a 750kg trailer with Xtrail ST auto....lol I must add that it was into a headwind.

On average towing it returned 12.5/100.

Normal driving at cruising speed returns 9/100 on a good day.

Mate of mine got an xtrail and we went over to Straddie and his car did everything mine did and some places it went better than mine. I was very impressed with the xtrail

Can't comment on the towing
