$5200????? bleep Id want the whole car for that!

Are you dead seton a TD42? why not look into a V8 Chev Diesel? or if your not worried abuot diesel, you can buy a wrecked VN Commodore for $2000 with V8 computer the lot....

Just tryin to help!

The price threw me to! I currently have the thirst TB42 in it at the moment great power but bleep fuel economy. 90 litres of gas gets me about 330 km! Im pretty set on the 4.2D due to the fact they are a standard engine for that car can easily be powered up by slapping a turbo on it. With the V* Diesel i have heard good things about it but i want to keep the conversion simple and relativly cheap and try to improve fuel economy. The V8 petrol engine is very tempting to but i don't like EFI in a 4x4 so yeah the 4.2 i think is the best for me

Thanks for suggestions

swbpatrol,
I have a person interested in my old 4.2 engine, do you want to buy a runner or are you looking for a project? I have an engine you can use as a project, I will give the other person the option first, I have morals, if he doesn't want it, i'll let you know. You will have to get a head but the rest is complete, and I'm in Perth. Keep the shiny side up

Truckster,
Yes I did get the reply and you should also seen my reply by now, I was unsure about etiquette, there was nothing intended by the inference of "another person", I'm sure I'll pick up things as time goes on.Keep the shiny side up

They have but you will pay for it, and they've been taken out for a reason, try and find out if the car was transported to Brunswick for the rebuild or it was driven there, if the fourby was transported there be wary. Be prepared to do a full rebuild, it's still cheaper than buying a new engine and you have the satisfaction of building it yourself, also try Chev Power in Perth, a bit more "local". If you have any complaints when you get the engine from Brunswick diesels it's a long way to go to get replacement bits and resolve issues if you have any. The guy down there gets a standard price from an engine reconditioning mob and you will pay what he expects to get. The service is friendly and helpful, my experience was good but I've heard other "stuff", I'll leave it at that. Keep the shiny side up

Chris,
If you are still interested in the engine send me your email and I'll get in touch, I have an engine that needs a rebuild and you can have it at a very reasonable cost.Keep the shiny side up
