So who was watching on waiting to take that photo at the moment he jumped back? What good timing!

His mate took the photo, this is what makes me think he was feeding it to get it to jump, The photo looks staged.

Cheers Steve.

It certainly does look somewhat staged. After posting as above, i read further down and saw who'd just happened to be poised with the camera ready to snap the critical moment. He certainly must have been keener on getting the photo than thinking how to rescue a mate in danger.

And the croc will now probably do the same to the next tinny it sees. We used to fish Corroboree in a 12 ft cartop punt. I would think twice now though.

``One minute I was leaning over the boat teasing it for a picture. The next minute it burst out of the water with incredible speed ... its jaws fully open.

``I began playing with it for a photo,'' he said.

``I was pointing at it when it suddenly jumped up at me _ I didn't realise that crocs were so aggressive.''

Knob Head

These are the type of ignorant clowns that get an arm bitten off or even worse, eaten, & then get a croc killed.

He was teasing it and got a surprise when it jumped up..... It just goes to show how much more intelligent crocs are than tourists. The croc probably said to himself here is another bleep .!
He should be deported.......for inciting violence.

It is a croc doing what crocs do, hunting. It amazes me that people don't understand that wild animals are wild ie have to get there own lunch any way possible.

It's unusual for a croc to approach this close to a boat in daylight . Maybe it had been trained to jump for food in the Adelaide River .

Have seen it happen twice on the one fishing trip out of Nhullunbuy. The people who live up that way weren't concerned.
I was and don't go near the edge of the boat around the mangroves.
Got a photo of one of them and if I knew how to get it on this post, I would

This fits the reputation Israeli tourists have world-wide. No surprise.

I should print that photo out and carry it in my wallet - next time I run into some English tourists up Port Douglas way who have just waded a tidal creek mouth, they might believe me that crocodiles live in the WATER and not in the "BUSHES" next to the creek!

Steve, as an old hand once told me all you have to remember about crocs is that they only want to eat you! You know that mate, apparently the tourists didn't.
Personally I don't play near the water in your neck of the woods :))

"I didn't realise that crocs were so aggressive!!!" I guess he could see how cute and cuddly they are. Anyway, you don't have to run or swim faster than a croc. Just faster than the mate with you !!!!
