Nothing new, they are simply stating the truth , 4WD's are bigger , cost more, use more fuel, etc etc..! I don't have an issue with all that but at this point we live in a free country and we can drive what we like, albeit for more $$$.
Until somebody invents a 4WD that does't suffer all these symptoms we have no choice. What it really says is that people who don't need 4WD's are turning away from them, and I don't have a problem with that either.

I wonder if all your 4x4 comments cover a Suzuki Jimny, a full on 4x4 that would the Toyota/Nissan's to shame when it comes to getting somewhere, but I'm sure it would be grunting with a 20ft Caravan hanging off it...Horses for Courses.

No off course not Doug, don't be silly, talking about the bigger gas gusling 4B's...A suzuki Jimmy would be socially acceptable me boy, if not to the load hauling society..! In fact I drove one on the weekend, she had done 300,000Km's and still going strong..

Usual media beat-up.
If you dont drive a 4wd then you are against them.
If you dont smoke you are against smokers.
If you are Liberal you dont like Labor.
And so the list goes on.
But does anyone actually give a toss? Nope. Just something for the papers to put between the ads.

Had the link sent to me at work today so I thought I'd share it.
Argument's been going on for years.
Hope Caltex are wrong about the fuel costs in 10 yrs time otherwise I won't be able to afford becoming a
Grey Nomad in my politically incorrect car of my choice.

I love my dinosaur (wrangler diesel) but its a bit of a worry when the major international oil companies are doing big share buy-backs. Apparently they are already preparing for the non hydrocarbon future and are preparing to diversify into other ways of making money. Are we going to be running around on compressed natural gas like some diesel buses have been converted to do?
