I've been a long term viewer of this site. Willem and a couple of the other old farts were there before me, and since then we're had a lot of fun, shared ideas, got stuck into each other and, depending on sobriety, dribbled forth until the cows come
home. LOL
Can anyone tell me the birth date of ExplorOZ please?
Regards
Kim

Hmmmm...old farts indeed!!!
I think EO started around 2000. I came in as a Member in September 02 but had been visiting for a while before that.
Member Lucy has been here longer than me I think!
Cheers

Kim,
David became a member on 7th March 2001. That would make it 7 years tomorrow.
When ExplorOz started would have to be on or before that date.

About Us
Company Profile
I.T. Beyond Pty Ltd. was established in 1999. For more information, please see the company website.
Officially launched in 2000, ExplorOz was the first Australian website to understand and devote its content to the needs of the traveller wanting to know how to prepare for a driving adventure in regional and outback Australia with their 4WD, camper trailer or caravan. These readers have unusual informational needs - which traditional mediums have been unable to respond to, however ExplorOz was the first (and after 7 years remains the only) website to utilise the very nature of the internet and its inherent ability to be accurate on a daily basis. There is no denying that ExplorOz/ brings people together in a unified community for enjoyment, information and opinion sharing, and for factual review of products,
services and issues. ExplorOz has been purpose-designed to provide this free information resource coupled with effective advertising opportunities for vendors and manufacturers of products/
services for the regional and outback tourism industry in an environment where consumer purchase decisions frequently occur. Maintaining over 450,000 user sessions each month, ExplorOz is the leading reference for Australian travellers!
ExplorOz/ - as a web-business, was conceptualised by partners David Martin and Michelle Martin (nee Jacka) whilst travelling around Australia during the 90's. ExplorOz was built upon their passion for the outback, the desire to encourage regional tourism and the joy of educating others to appreciate remote areas

I believe Willem was born around the time electricity was invented and Lucy retired from the
services just after the Boer War, as a Private after 10 years of service.
Rumour has it Kim that you were in Cadets at the time of Lucy's "command", but that has yet to be substantiated.
Not sure how this relates to the founding of EO, but it does reflect the "experience" of some of our more senior members.

Stay focused, and stop upsetting the sensitive fellas....LOL

Thanks fellas
I think I started to tune in around 2001-2002.
The reason for asking, came from a bit of thought to celebrate the web site.
Have a good weekend.
Regards
Kim
