I would change it ,
and add a tube of Nulon addative , If it's not whining it should last for years.

is it normal for the gear oil to go black so quickly? if not, why is it happening? is it from working harder with the turbo and extra power?

If it is dark and smells burnt, it just means you have been driving it hard.

How many kms have you done in the month??

Cheers Steve.

i have done about 3000 klm thats it
and havent done any towing, i am thinking about buying a new box, and selling this one. there is no noise in the box at all and it is smooth. id rather change it and give myself peace of mind.

If you are going to do that, perhaps look at putting a 75 series box in, it's some small adjustments, that box is way stronger than the 78/79 series.

The 78/79 series Gbox would be good behind a 3lt Nissan motor, you could have bets with your friends to see which one is going to blow first.

I had a 78 series that had 4 Gearboxes in 3 years.

Cheers Steve
