Any guesses as to what diesel will cost on these two roads in June 2008 and any suggestions as to where to fill up.

Hmmmm...let me consult my crystal ball.....LOL

Does it matter?

If you are travelling that way then you have been prepared to pay whatever cost the fuel may be.

Probably going to have to pay between $2.50 and $3.00 per litre depending on how high the oil price goes.

Cheers

At the end of July 2007, diesel was $1.60 per litre at both Papunya and Kintore. At the same time it was $2.80 per litre at Well 33.

Kintore is a good place to fill up, provided you're content to sit around waiting until the "fill-up" times come about.

It's a very nice view of Mt. Leisler at the bowser, I could get quite contented :-)

Looking for adventure.

It was $2 per litre at Punmu near the western end . I did Marble Bar to Alice in two long days and bought 50 litres as I went though Punmu to top up . I realised afterwards I would have made the trip without refuelling at Punmu ( I have 270 litre tanks )

The track was excellent in WA and you could often sit on 100 kph , but got into bad corrugations in NT . I was surprised at this - I thought it would have been the other way around .

Easy trip .

Willie .
