Many of us carry a roof top tinnie and all the accessories while travelling. There are a fair few options available for carrying the tinnie and several commercial products available to assist with this.

I recently came across one that seems a great aid for loading and carrying the outboard motor. I was first directed to it by Damian from ExploreOz. He had received an email from the ABC TV show The New Inventors to comment on an invention that they were considering for the show. He passed it to me to respond, as I was one of the authors of the Roof Toppers article on Explore Oz.

Well, from what I can see it seems to be a great idea. Called the Ezygo, it consists of a special trolley to mount the motor on and move it around (so can be used at home as well as on the road), and a set of extending tracks. It can be mounted in the back of a vehicle (with enough length), on the draw bar of a CT or caravan, or on a rack on the rear of CT or caravan.

It makes loading a breeze, reduces the weight being lifted dramatically and locks the motor in place for protection and safety.

I have not seen one in the flesh yet, but probably will this week-end as they will be at the Gold Coast Caravan and 4WD Show. Thought I'd put a post up now in case anyone else is considering attending and might want to have a look.

I believe it is all (or mostly) stainless steel and at $660 won't break the bank.

No affilliation. Just thought it looked like a great product wothy of consideration to help with carrying the outboard. The manufacturer is based at Dunoon, near Lismore, so being a small regional based business is another reason to support them in my book.

Link toEzygo web site.

After I see one I'll post a report.
