Hi All

Channel Ten news tonight, had the Queensland Government,
saying that the current skill shortage, requires Grey Nomads to fill
in the gaps re Trades people, chippies / plumbers /sparkies ect,
to apply for jobs associated with the mining industry, probably
doing maintenance ect, I think they wanted Mechanical Trades as
well, even truck drivers ect, they were also talking about training
women. it would help some retirees get a few extra bucks, if they
passed the selection criteria.

Cheers

What part of Here is here & where do I sign up? Only problem is SWMBO and the kids won't want to move. Spose I could leave them home for a year or six.

Louie,

That is up around Gladstone, they are about to do an expansion on the Aluminium smelter as well as build 4 Liquid Natural Gas plants complete with pipe line from the gas fields.
Check with Rio Tinto etc

Footy,

If that happens maybe my rent will go down a fair bit and I can afford to buy a house, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Cheers Kev

I think you would be to young, they want people to work not party all night and disrupt the working days.......just wait a bit until you more settled.

Yep...Bloody oath!!!
I reckon they should cut absolutely everyone off the dole, CDEP, Sit down money the whole bloody lot!!!
Those who are in a position that they legitamately need it need to reaply. Atleast they could cathch up on some of those pri(k$ who have been on it most of their lives.
Im not at that age yet, but if I was asked to come out of retirement so I could support the people who have decided not to work....Jeeze Id be Pi$$ed!!!!

Cheers
