Well a old builder mate of
mine, near had a tear in his eye today as he abanded his trusty GQ Nissan tray back, and made way for a new Isuzu 2 Tonner. Why was he a bit upset??, 725,000 KMS !!, out of a non turbo 4.2 L Nssan donk, with absent minded servicing for the last 18yrs or round about. it had not had the head off, only a injector service way back, Transmission ? untouched!, All on the black top, but as a landrover addict i would have to say that is a fabulous result from a jap machine...lol
.
Cheers Axle.

My HJ60 was sold with 500 000 km on it. Still going strong, nothing wrong. I remember changing the oil after 12 months once, it needed kero in with the oil, run around for a while then change it again with decent oil.
That's what passed for "routine maintainance" with those vehicles.
They don't make em like that any more :((( LOL

My 4.2 GQ has 275 000km and goes beautifully. Mind you it had an easy life before i got it 75 000 ago. I'll be happy to get 600 000 out of this before trading it in for a 4.2 GU!

That is nothing unusual for the 4.2.
I won't say anything about the 3.0 in the GU.
