I don't know what you think, but it seems to me the State Govt seems to be happy to spend money on public service adds encouraging us to have a when tired.
It might be my age but I regularly feel drowsy by mid afternoon but often find it difficult to find a suitable shady place to stop on many of our highways. I just wish there were more spots provided.....silverback ps just back from Mt Blue Rag and the Prom, what a blast...would share pics if I knew how (windows Vista

I once pulled over to have a nap in west Qld and the farmer and half the town came out to see what I was up to :))
You're right. Lack of sleep has killed many good drivers, but where do you pull over safely for the avo snooze?

Three dead, two injured in freeway crash - possible cause - fatigue
Link . The problem is that some people don't know when/if they are about to doze. Can be a problem.

Driving down to Buckys place last month, VIC Roads have placed signs every 5km and a place maybe 15- 20km...the further from NSW and the more into civilisation the less they became.NSW had 3 between here and the border - 6 hrs away - and one of them if only a few km away...I really struggled finding a place quick enough!!!

"tired?"
"
rest area 5km"
"
rest area 1km"
"
rest area ->"
then there are all the warning signs of driving tired.....
they couldnt come quick enough because I was driving after being up for over 24 hrs...eventually got to sleep after 32 +hrs

David, we have often commented with cynical amusement, that where ever they put the power nap signs, there is nowhere with cooee that you could pull over for a nap.

I can relate to that Nick.
I have searched everywhere for my powernap button, all over the dashboard, even under the
seat, in my shirt, in my socks, everywhere.
Everytime I want a quick 15 minute powernap, I overstay my time by a couple of hours.
If anyone knows how to have just a 15 minute powernap, I would love to know.

Nick, can hardly believe three hours between phone calls. LOL
Dave, if you suffer from sleep apnoea, you could wake every 15 minutes without treatment.......
