Hi there I have a GPSmap 60cs I had a genuine auto mount in the 80 series that was stuck using silcon to the dash but now have a brand new Patrol and realy do not want to sick it or put holes in the dash. So I am looking for onbe of the suction cup types that sticks to the windscreen, has anyone out there also have a 60cs with this type of set up or nowes of a mount that works
well and where I can get it.
thanks
Jason

gpsoz.com.au have the lot - all to be seen on their site - prices are keen and free delivery to your door on most items sold - I have a bit of their gear and quite happy all up (no affiliation). I bought the suction mount for the windcsreen - it hangs on very
well, and can rest to an extent on the dash mat as
well.

I bought the GPS60 non-mapper......if you phone them, you can work backwards to your mounting requirement from the GPS you have - cradle to suit, plus ram ball, ram connector arm, ram ball then suction clamp. I went with an external antenna too - very compact and reduces drop outs in rugged terrain..... the antenna cable plugs straight in the back - no power supply required. I found them very easy people to deal with - only takes a couple of minutes and you'll be off the phone..... oh..... it will cost some money though :-0)

Jason,
I've got a 60cs in a Troopy - Garmin made mount with suction cup. It doesn't vibrate as much as I tought it would, and as was said you can position it so that it rests partially on the dash - at least on the troopy the windscreen angle and flat dash make this dead easy. Only bugger was I had long since lost the screw in thingy for the gps (black plastic knob thing) so I had to make a small substitute.
Cheers,
Gil

You got the right idea mate, sit it on the dash, It amazes me how many ppl have the bloody things suspended in the air about 1/3 the way up the screen and then wonder why it shakes so much the eyes can't keep up.

Have a look at the ram mount for this gps. i had an oem windscreen mount and it fell off occasionally. i bought a ram mount and it is no longer a problem plus it had far more adjustability than the oem version. Part number GR60S. Money
well spent. Johnny Appleseed in
Melbourne have them available.

I have a 60cx mounted in a 95 series Prado using a RAM mount. I didn't want to drill holes either so I made a thin steel bracket to mount the Ram ball on. I dismantled some of the dash around the instrument panel and screwed the steel bracket to the frame that the instrument panel is fastened to. Quite a few 4WD dashes have panels that fit together and you can squeeze a thin steel bracket between them that makes for a
rock solid mount. Worth a look to see if you could try something similar.
regards,
Peter
