Hi and thannksfor any suggestions.
The Hilux 2001 has blown two fuses. They protect the tacho temp guage and fuel guage. I guess I gotta get the dash panel out and try to find which guage is pulling the excess current or maybe find a short left over from when I took the 150,000 km light out.
Anyone who has had similar problem please advise.
Thanks again
Owen

indeed i have. two trips with the dinghy and two blown fuses. You must be psychic. but I reckon you know your stuff.
thanks so much for your clue. Only thing I wonder now is why its the guages fuse that blows. But I guess it has to be one of them.

I can't speak for the Hilux but on an NM/NP Paj they pull the power for the trailer running lights from the circuit that runs the right rear tail light and all of the dash lights, so if the wiring shorts the whole dash goes dark (Instruments still work though).

Hi Owen
Some Toyota's use the gauge fuse for the tail lights as
well. Hope this helps
