We were there last weekend, water was flowing and the park was in excellent condition. Heard they are expecting 1000 campers for Easter though...

i have mates that go there with a large group every easter and yes it does get about 1000 people there. not my idea of fun but different storkes for different floks as they say.
went through condamine gorge and queen mary falls today, water is flowing alot less (but still a good amount about) then it was 6 weeks ago, definately starting to slow up abit though, would think it is the same for bigriggen as there hasn't been alot of rain about since those big falls.

it's in S.E QLD, between rathdowney and boonah. remember the dog that was rescued off of the side of the cliff face recently on the news when the owners went mountain climbing and got stuck on Mt. Barney. well mt. Barney is only about 15 mins. down the road from bigriggen.
nice grassey privately owned campground with shoers and toilets, good place to get away from it all, but not really have to rough it.

The dog was on Mt MAroon, slightly north of Mt Barney. Bigriggen and Flanagan's Reserve are two wonderful camp spots very close to Rathdowney. Bigriggen very good for people wanting to find their feet with camping - but in great surroundings. We live in RAthdowney and camp at Flanagans which is probably ten minutes away - but love being so very close to the mountain - Flanagans is back up the river from Bigriggen and across the water from the mountains. Both extremely busy at Easter time - with music, EasterBunny comes for the kids, campers have been travelling through here since last weekend going out to set up ready for Easter.

that's right it was mt. maroon, i stand corrected.
the one time we looked at camping at flanagans reserve their was no grass what so ever to be seen, was a few years back. the trees are great for shade but don't give the grass much opportunity to grow. have been there since on a day trip from bigriggen for a swim and seen it with grass after rains, made the place look alot more inviting.
i'd suggest you wear shoes when swimming at bigriggen, i have some of those dive boots for creek swimming. i came out of the water at bigriggen and felt something strange on the bottom and side of my foot, it was a big fishing lure with 2 hooks stuck to my boot.
