I have a 1994 Toyota 2WD Extra Cab in great condition but really I need a 4WD. Can anybody tell me if the chassy on the 2WD is the same as the 4WD except for the spring mountings etc with a view to doing a conversion if a suitable 4WD wreck became available. Thanks all. Drew.

Mate,
I would wait for a rollover 4wd and put your body onto it. (provided it isn't a stat. write off) Much less Hassle and no engineering.

Surely it would be easier and cheaper to just sell up and buy a 4wd? Add up labour, engineers certificates, and you would be in front just selling.

Forget it!
Just go and buy a 4 wheel drive.
If you buy a wreck and change over, you will no idea what else is wrong with what you bought, trading the 2WD on a 4WD one will at least give you the opurtunity to drive before you buy.
