I've just finished a book about significant trees in Australia, however the name escapes me. But it covers most of those trees you mention. There are already significant tree registers in most states and many are managed by national trust and are under
heritage protection.
When i get
home i'll grab the name of the book.

ok
book is called "If Trees Could Speak" - Stories of Australia's Greatest Trees. Its by Bob Beale.
Certainly sounds like a book you would like. I enjoyed it.

I can add a POI type in
places if you wish and you can register the tree's in there along with descriptions and photos. Are you interested in starting to populate this? Are there any others who would be keen to manage/moderate this POI type.

I have added a new POI type being: Historic and Landmark Trees
We will need to move the POI's already in the system into this over time. I will have a look at some now - We must keep them as
Point of Interest and add the new Historic and Landmark Tress type to them.

David,
How about a general "Historic" POI or "
Explorers Camp" place type?
Cheers
Alan.
