Hi all,
Does anybody know the what for and colouring of the factory stereo with cassette players for an 80 Series pre 1995? I have purchased a new stereo head and have sorted the speaker wiring, but cannot workout the wiring from the second loom from the wiring docs I have.
Also the factory stereo had a blue/white wire and a red wire that connected to the power aerial, but my new stereo only has a single blue wire for this function. I was wondering if the factory wires were for power up when radio on, then power down when tape player on??? Does anyone know which of the two wires I need to connect my blue wire to and whether I need to disable the second wire?
Cheers and thanks in advance

Hi Doug,
Thanks for that, but it is what I have in my manual. I am just confused trying to work out the wiring for the second loom that contains power, earth etc. Not sure which wires do what.
That diagram was great for the speakers but over the top of my thick skull for the rest.
Cheers

Isn't the second loom behind the stereo for the factory amplifier (behind/above glovebox)? I know it was in the 62 series, not sure about the 80.

Glenn
Go to your local Supercheap Auto and they have a display there with wiring loom block converters for most stereo heads or from factory radios to non your own installed loom. Find the one for the 80 series and on the back of the pack they indicate which colour wire and pin goes where off the factory loom or factory pin. Think they are called Aero or something like that. You will find the Toyota wiring is pretty standard since 1990 onwards.

I think it's Aerpro.

Thankyou all for your responses. I have since gone and ordered the correct Aerpro part from Supercheap and I should receive it early next week.
The truck certainly looks different with the steering wheel off, and all the dash panels. Gives me a great chance to vaccuum up all the red dust from my many outback excursions : )
Cheers
