Hi All, this is my 1st post after sitting in the background watching the
ExploreOZ-Forum-Family interact for a couple of months, very informative
and entertaining......so here goes.

I thought people might like to know that those cheap($350) chinese generators
(like the ones that Wayne mentions in post 4733, Yamaha copy 850watt) are on
sale at The Tool Centre Kilsyth, Vic for $279 this weekend. I hope that this helps
anyone that is chasing one as they seem popular.

Has anyone got any comparisons of these chinese generators to others on the market like a honda or such in a similar size?

i did a comparison with a friend of mines identical yamaha genny.
his is a little older so of course my one was heaps quieter.
to look at them apart from the stickers they are identical in every way even the yamaha parts fit the chineese ones.
yamaha $1000
we used ours heaps at easter withy out any problems at all.
i wouldnt hesitate in bying another one and have told a few customers throu work about them and they are happy as well.

Sadly, you get what you pay for! Note these are two-stroke, and pollute and smell accordingly. Someone ran one near us a few months ago and I and other campers were NOT impressed- if I wanted to smell two stroke oil smoke constantly I'd camp in the city...
I didn't complain to the offender so's to keep the peace- but it really annoyed us all.
