Hi,

I'm after a second hand 9323, mainly for the small control head - my vehicle cab is too cluttered from other stuff already (and I'm too tight to buy an NGT).

I have had a quick look at the Barrett 550 & 950 (though can't find much documentation on the 550s . . . what's the difference between the two - there doesn't appear to be a lot of difference in control heads, on quick glance?) and have nothing against them.
Simply put though, size matters.

Have you any suggestions on where I should look for a second hand unit, beyond ebay, vks webpage, Lake Macq website. I haven't had much joy looking about, though I have seen one or two on offer.

Cheers,
John

If space is a problem go for an NGT not a lot dearer if you get a s/hand one and the handpiece does all the work and is only a little bigger than a cell phone. I have mine mounted on a bracket on the side of the tranny tunnel. Can mail u the pics of the installation if u r interested.
I paid $2600 for an ex demo NGT and a 9350 autotune. Have had it reflashed with the maquarie profile and its fine.
Suggest u try Underdunk he has a mobile number on his ads on Ebay His name is David.

On rereading your post I see you say u r too tight to buy an NGT
Well I was too until I saw 9323's wanting $2,300 so I spent an extra $300 and got the good one.
Remember the 9323 has been out for over 10 years and was replaced in 2004.

Expect nothing less from him Jim.

I would suggest he still has his nose out of joint over the questions posed in the other HF Thread which he failed to answer.

John, that person isn't about substance. I've tried to ignore him on here, it isn't enjoyable for the others online.
But he makes it difficult.

John

Also, Ivan Smith (at Renmark, 8595 1639) is currently (I think) SA's only accredited Codan repairer. He did some work for me recently and I was very happy with that. He may have used units.

Electric Bug definitely worth a try (new and seconds). Also try Karera Communications at Hornsby - lots of good wraps on this site.

Mine came from EO trader so don't forget that.

Cheers JD

Try Electric Bug, Torrens Rd, Croydon. I was in there recently (no affiliation with them) and they have a large selection of HF radios and accessories. Link
