I have access to 2 Ericsson R290 sat phones for nothing, they have been canceled.

Are these phones able to use a 3G pre paid sim card with international roaming.

I have seen posts on here before with similar questions so just curious.

Cheers Steve.

Mate, Globalcr*p used vodaphone as their terrestrial service AFAIK. So unless a Telstra SIM will work on the Vodeeodoh network....

I have an Erricsson R290 that I bought off Ebay nearly a year ago ,, can tell u that a Telstra Next g simcard WILL WORK where ever Next G is available , dont know if prepaid card will as I dont use prepaid ,, the obvious is that u will NOT get satellite use from the phone/s unless u sign up for a sim card from Globalsat [now Pivotel ],, there latest offering is , no signup fee and mth by mth so no long term contracts , cheapest is $35 per mth with $10 included calls at 1/2 the normal 90c per 30sec.
