Hi All could someone please explain or comment if a uhf (as in gme 3200) could talk/communicate with one of the "omdi" 40 channel CB handheld radios I have seen advertised for sale on ebay. They list the operating frequency as 25KHZ/12.5KHZ. Thanks for your thoughts

The handhelds sound like AM Band Radios (kHz)to me so I would guess no they will not be useable with a UHF (MHz)

Just had a look at one on ebay.
The seller says that it is a "two way UHF CB radio".
The 25KHz/12.5KHz compatability, I think, would be the available frequency step/spacing between channels.

PRS & UHFCB are different Freq bands - so generally NOT compatible

Thankyou for all the replies and the ref to the thread.
Apart from unknown reliability and warranty issues am I correct in taking it they can "talk" to and be used with my GME uhf.

I'm pretty sure the omdi ones are 450mhz - 470mhz and also 470mhz - 500mhz. You need to make sure it will pick up the 477mhz cb band, or more specifically 476.425 to 477.400 (with 25khz spacing). If you get one that only does 450mhz - 470mhz then you're outta luck. Once you've made sure it will pickup 477mhz then make sure you can program it. Make sure it's programmable by the front panel or with a supplied pc cable & software.
You can buy Icom IC41s's for $339 fully delivered over the internet, which is what i use because i don't trust the chinese imports. Yes, i have the cable and software to program my icom :)
