It is drawing closer to the time of year that is the ExplorOz National Gathering.

To assist Willem in the organising of the event both Kiwi and I have put our hands up to help out.

So far we have secured a Judge for the campfire/cooking competition, I have heard that he is very open to bribes ;) Thanks Aussie chef for taking the huge job on.

John T is going to entertain the kids (big kids included) with the horse shoe throwing comp..

We still need someone to run a fishing comp..... any takers??

We have finalised the trivia questions for those wishing to test there knowledge.

Trevor the larger than Life QUEENSLANDER is going to bring a tyre tube for swimming so bring along another couple and we could have tube races..

Anyone else with any other ideas please let us know and we will work on them.

Please don't feel pressured into thinking that you have to participate in these activities. They are intended as some light entertainement due to being unable to secure any external entertainment.

Cheers Kev

Hi
It may have already been raised as a possible activity, but an old boy scout competition used to be to start a fire and boil a can of water, only using techniques over 500 years old.
This can be done as single person or team competitions.
Hope you all have a good time.
Cheers
Ian
I'll get there someday, or die wanting to.

(can be done)

Kev,

Have you forsaken NSW already. Shame Shame.

Those dam Qld'ers must have forgotten that we will be at Innamincka in the middle of winter - avg night temp about 5 - 6 degrees, avg daytime temp - 18 - 19 degrees. I'm not going floating down the river in any tube. Was even thinking of warming the horseshoes before tossing them.

Provided no one wants to cheat (read "Bribe") the fishing comp bloke, I'll take that 1 off ya hands Kev. Been involved in a few over the years - work or otherwise. I'll have to get hold of a book of SA rules so no littleun's get taken.

Might see if I can find some plastic hula hoop thingies - remember them folks - they make great targets for a casting comp - fishing rods at 10 paces etc. So bring a rod suitable for that event too. If we get too many things to do - I might have to extend the trip hehe

And if anyone can find a sample of their own State flag, Please bring them along - Trevor's guard dog will keep em all safe and sound hahahaha - some guard dog - wants to lick you all the time.

Looks good so far Kev / Laura / Trevor. Looking fwd to the gathering and putting faces to names.

Cheers
