GQ TI dual battery setup

I have a 96 GQ TI with dual batteries. I know this coz when I lift up the bonnet there are two under there. But I have no idea how they are actually hooked up; in parallel, or isolated, or what. I guess I could leave the headlights on until it is flat and then try to start it, but it seems easier to ask the question.
Anyone out there know how these things are hooked up?

try following the wires off the batteries and see where they go.
how long have u had the gq???

Had it about 6 months, but I am thinking about putting a fridge in the back, and wouldn't mind seeing if I can flatten the 2nd battery without draining the one connected to the starter motor.
Tried following the wires but they just seem to disappear into bundles. Tried consulting the manual, but it doesn't tell me anything. This is a standard factory installation, but no info is available.
