Al,
Yes is about as short and succinct as you can get, but at least it answers the question.
Cheers,

Yes one and the same.
ARB Corporation’s 40 litre model manufactured by the SawaFuji Electric Com-pany (the same people that make the
well respected Engel fridge/freezers) (Extract from)

If you had checked the ARB and Engel website you would have seen the Model No's are the same.

Doug,
I did actually do that.
The Engel site calls the 40 Litre a Model No: MT45F-S, but on the ARB site it is described as
Model: MT45FARB (Australia).
As stated in original post the specifications/photo etc indicated they are, but I just wanted others opinions.
Thanks,
Cruiser

Wouldn't you agree the MT45F part of the S/N in both would tell a story.

Lighten up Doug.
Why the need to be so condescending?
He was only after a bit of friendly (remember that?), helpful advice.
Can't we help each other?
Jim.

Jim
With all respect the exchenge of posts were between Cruiser and myself of which we both sorted it out quite OK without your input ,
If of course you want me to conduct a full scale attack onya then cease treading on thin ice,
NOW the big question is are you going to take that as an insult or just some of my usual fun fishing tactics,

Yes, it is the same over priced, over rated cooling device from an over rated, over priced retail outlet :-)

They are the same item. I looked at both.
Aussie Disposals and Anaconda were throwing in heaps of freebies with the purchase (ARB didn't). For ther RRP, (admittedly it was around the time of the Caravan & Camping Show) I ended up with an engel thermometer, 240 volt inverter, a bunch of internals for the fridge (plastic cases, baskets and dividers etc), and the dedicated engel cover). Works a treat, and very happy.
I've nothing against ARB, but they didn't offer this stuff. Economics really. I also got a very large soft cargo bag that swallows 4 sleeping bags, 3 double blow up mattresses and a 2 man tent. Perfect for the roofrack. It pays to
shop a round a little and don't be afraid to play one retailer off against the other to get the deal you want, if you have the time and inclination fo course.
Cheers

I almost bought the ARB branded one - but the ARB salesman tlkaed me out of it - if there is a problem with the fridge it has to be returned to ARB (of which there arent a lot of in remote parts of Aust) but the Engel branded one can be taken to any Engel servic centre (of which there are heaps around Aust....)
