sorry havent posted for a while just lurking.
going through choices on a new wagon ,and im undecided between a standard gu or 100 series or do i get a petrol variant(4.5) of either model?
which of the patrol or cruiser is suited to gas and longevity?
ie if i get a petrol then fit gas how many kms with all combined tanks can i get ?
and will the motor life of either be significantly shorter by adding gas?
i know there are many questions here but the budget is limited and my last 2 cars have been diesels with no real complaints.
any unbiased opinions or knowledge appreciated.
cheers Toonfish

Hey toonie, good to see you are still around, I would narrow it down to a diesel version of which vehicle pops up at the right price. And of course I would choose a Toyota.
Cheers

Go for a 4.2TD Patrol ST.

I own a Missan and drive a standard 100 series at work. I have driven both vehicles over long distances and it has given me ample opportunity to compare the two.

The standard Yoto is very uncomfortable and on long distances becomes very painful. I take a lumbar support with me which helps but you would think for the price they would fit decent seats.

If you are into pain get the Yoto. If you want more comfort get the Missan.

Petrol / Gas only becomes an option if you live in the big smoke and don't want to travel long distances towing.

I have owned petrol, petrol / gas, and turbo diesel 4WDs. I prefer diesel.
