Hi all,
I'm looking for something to use as a ground sheet which will ultimately cover the entire ground under the 4wd and a meter or so each side, except for the passenger side where I want a couple of meters so under the awning is covered.
The most obvious choice is shadecloth as it will fold/roll down to a small foot print for storing inside the 4wd but I was wondering what other suggestions you had for me?
I remember reading something about a material used for helicopter landings that allowed sand to fall through it ... can anyone tell me what this is called?
Also, just fyi, we had a roof top tent on the 4wd so we walk around the 4wd quite a lot, especially under the awning on the passenger side and the rear to access the fridge and drawers.
Cheers,
Jason.

There is a type of rubberised matting that us caravanners use under awnings etc. Available at Clark Rubber for around $35 to $50 per metre at 2.5 metres wide.
It has holes in it and is great outside a van, don't know about driving on it.

Look for a product called CGEAR shade cloth. Just brought one and used it twice top stuff.
Sand and dirt on top goes through down. Nothing comes back up. spills etc go through (chunky bits get cught but if you chew
well should not be a problem)
Well made and can peg eavery 500mm of so.
Check it out at www.cgear.com
Regards Trevor

We roll out a strip of canvas along the side of our truck to stand on, get dressed on etc.
Canvas doesn't let thru prickles and is better to stand on than plastic tarps.
