A BIG Cancer thankyou to Ironman

There's a bloke, Michael Mitchell who is doing a 13 month walk to raise money for Cancer research. He is fitting out his own Jack as the support vehicle and has been trying to do it as cost effectively as possible.

I've got to stress he's not after something for nothing. He'll pay the going rate and if someone is prepared to support him, well he accepts that to aid the charity

Hence his visit to us for drawers and a fridge slide. Naturally we looked after him with a unit at cost. We then got to talking about his need for suspension.

I suggested he visit Ironman and talk to Kristian, who happens to be one of life's gentlemen. He did and Kristian heavily discounted the package. Kristian then went and approached Tom, the owner of the business, who immediately refused to take any payment whatsoever and donated the whole lot.

You would be surprised how many large businesses have not even offered him a discount, let alone supporting him.

One large company that I deal with hasn't even offered him a product at cost, let alone sponsor him. Both myself and Tru Blue Campers have offered to buy this product for him at cost.

I'll be contacting this mob tomorrow and applying the little pressure I can, and if they don't do something for him I'll name them.

Jim.

I would have to admit this is very similar to my experiences with Kristian at Ironman.

Not to many people would spend upwards of 10 hours in total and 2 sets of rear and 4 sets of IFS front springs to get the "customer satisfaction" (not saying I was difficult, but trying to get the right spring rates can be a bit tedious). Did it with no complaints. All for the "basic" cost of parts.

More than happy to deal with them anytime.

Hi Jim

Where is Michael going to and from? Has he had any media
coverage, doing something like this needs all the support
and coverage that he can get, I (Julie) went to NSW for a
dinner for Can Assist run by a family friend, Can Assist is a
support group in NSW for families that are going through
the cancer ordeal, (I have personally gone throught it myself)
please let us all know of how Michael is progressing and pass
on to him our best wishes.

Julie
Cheers
