To all those knockers who claimed the new Navara wouldn't last the distance - I have just completed 100,00 k's (20,000 towing a 2,500 kg van) without ANY problems!
Love this vehicle!!!

Hi Apwaddo, I am glad that you are really happy with the Navara as that is all that counts. You may find that the "knockers" will want your opinion after 2 or 3 hundred K. Just another vehicle that won't last story, I have a ford falcon tray back with 140,000 on the clock and 40,000 of those pulling a 2,000 kg mowing trailer with no problems (apart from stopping!) The knockers would say stay away from falcons but they may not know best.

Regards

Mark

I think you'll find that being a commercial vehicle, the Ford tray will have the auto cooler fitted as standard. I know mine did but mine is a tradesman pack so maybe it was just those. Also if a Ford has the heavy duty tow pack fitted by ford, the tranny cooler is part of the kit even on the passenger vehicles.

Ford know how to build vehicles for the masses, they started it.

My au and ba that followed never had coolers fitted as std. Ford told me that the au didn`t need one and the auto went bang at 100,000ks.
Sold ba before it did many ks

Mate with an STX got a water in his fuel (diesel)...

Basically destroyed the fuel injection system - bill so far in excess of $8k and rising - and he still hasnt got it back on the road yet...

I have read this elsewhere that they are hideously expensive for pump/injector work.

Hi Apwaddo

We tow our van with out any problems, even tow it up the beach,
we have had no dramas at all, we get it serviced on a regular basis,
and dont thrash it, oh and its a Nissan Navara ST-R Diesel,
I like these so called stories about mates who have had problems
with different vehicles, Water in Fuel, wow, I had a Toyota Hylux
with the same problem, it was still under warranty, at that time
replaced Fuel Pump $3000-00 and they also took out the Fuel Tank
and flushed it out$450-00 a few other things $700-00, and that was
done at a Toyota Dealership, in 1997, you can have problems with
all types of vehicles.

Cheers

Daza

Agree with you Daza but water in fuel is not a warranty issue and is becoming alot more common with crd`s.
I would be more worried about the bending chassis and the few motors that have gone bang.
But there probably from hard use like the ute is meant to be designed for.
After nissan`s 3lt patrol dramas I wouldn`t risk buying one of there small turbo diesels and went the hilux

Stu-k,,Could you tell me how many 3Ltr motors have gone bang in the Navara. I stand to be corrected here but to my knowledge I have never heard of one as yet. Regards Nav.

None of the 3lt`s that I have heard but 2 of the stx 2.5 one with 6000ks and one with 30,000.
I was referring to the stx in my comments.

my hubby & i are in the process of ordering a new navara stx diesel. We tow a jayco sterling 2100 kg at the moment with our tray back intercooled nissan patrol, runs well.
Like to use the navara on some smaller trips, how does it tow, & the comfort in the vehicle itself
